Catholic Daughters Convention

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS, Mont. - The Catholic Daughters of the Americas holds its national meeting at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center this week.

More than 850 people are in town for the event, representing 45 states. The group donates to charities and administers scholarships in communities across America.

National Regent Anne Nelson said it's been a great experience so far.

"I just thank the people of Montana for such a wonderful welcome," she said. "The women and men here are absolutely fantastic. I have not seen a scowl on anyone's face -- from the airport, to the van drivers, to the waiters and waitresses at restaurants -- it's always a 'Hello' and 'We're glad you're here.' I come from the East and that doesn't always happen.">

The convention started on Wednesday and wraps up on Saturday night.
