Family Rescued After Getting Stuck Overnight

Posted: Updated:
MEETEETSE, Wyo. -

The Park County Search and Rescue Team found a family late on Saturday afternoon.

A couple and their two children ages 8 and 3 got stuck in the mud 12 miles east of Meeteetse on Friday night.

In the morning, they tried to walk out, but around 11 am, they ran out of water and called 911.

A rescue plane spotted the family around 1 in the afternoon.

The team was able to help the family and get their car out of the mud.

A Park County spokesman says it's always a good idea to carry provisions in unfamiliar areas because landscapes are constantly changing.
