Relay For Life Wrap Up

Posted: Updated:

According to Cathy Cullen of the American Cancer Society, Relay For Life of Yellowstone County 2014 raised over half a million dollar, but they aren't finished yet.

Fundraising efforts will continue throughout the month of August.

The 24 hour event saw people walking around the West High track for over 12 hours.

The night activities were kicked off by lighting the luminaries and then a spectacular firework show.

Throughout the night many events and contests were held to keep the relayers up and moving.

Shirley Murdock is a part of team called Nip It In the Bud. She and her teammates were relaying for their friend Jean who lost her fight with cancer in January. Murdock says she and her team will relay until there's a cure.

Cullen says this year was a success and Relay For Life 2015 is already in the works.
