Hail Help From Insurance Commissioner's Office

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

If you need help to resolve issues from the major hail storm in May you can talk one-on-one with experts from the Montana Insurance Commissioner's Office. The experts will be in Billings this week to offer free help to residents who have problems with insurance or scams after the hail storm.

The Insurance Commissioner' Office says thousands of insurance claims already have been filed. Many of those reports they say were filed without problems, but not all were error-free. Because of that there will be three sessions called *Hail Help* in Billings.

The first session is Wednesday, July 9th at the Billings Public Library from 5:30 to 7:30pm. The other two are on Thursday. There's one from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the MSUB Extended campus downtown and at the Country Inn and Suites at 23 Main Street, from 5:30 to 7:30pm. You're asked to bring any paperwork with you including your insurance policy and receipts from repairs.

Susanne Rodell faced a difficult situation. Hail storm damage to her roof led to an insurance claim being filed. Rodell picked a local contractor to fix her roof, but mother nature did not cooperate. While the roofing company was in the middle of fixing her roof, a weekend of rain caused water damage to dry wall and ceilings within the house.
