"National Anthem Girl" Sings At Home Of Champions Rodeo

BILLINGS -

The Home of Champions Rodeo in Red Lodge is going on, and just like every year, Cowboy Christmas will draw a great crowd.

However, this year the popular rodeo has invited vocalist, Janine Stange, to sing the National Anthem Friday afternoon.

The “National Anthem Girl” is her nickname, and she has made it her goal to sing the Star Spangled Banner in all 50 states.

Stange is doing it because she has another important goal, while she is singing on the road.

After she performs, Stange offers patriotic-themed thank you cards to the audience to sign and give to a veteran.

"When they're at the tables, I see parents come up with their children and say, I want you to sign this card. Sometimes they draw pictures... But little kids, they'll draw something and (their parents) explain to them what the word Patriotism means, what the word Veteran means and I think that is so important. Those are the reactions that I've wanted. I think an experience is something that can change some body's life and I hope that is what it's giving to a lot of people.”

After Red Lodge, Stange will sing at a car show in Indiana, followed by a Sprint Cup NASCAR race in New Hampshire.
