Plea Agreement Negotiations in October Homicide Case

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS, Mont. -

The Yellowstone County Attorney says negotiations are in the works for a plea agreement for the suspect in last October’s north side homicide.

Mahpevana-Hane Lorne Bearcomesout was charged with deliberate homicide and tampering with evidence in connection with the shooting death of Misael Santiago, whose body was found by Billings police in the driveway of a home on North 24th Street. Santiago had been shot three times.

Court records indicate Bearcomesout initially told police he shot Santiago over a dispute about a pit bull puppy and a possible stolen gun. Bearcomesout was arrested this past may for assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, and criminal endangerment allegedly against his common-law wife.
