Clarks's Fork Drowning

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

We don't yet know the identity of a 52-year old woman who lost her life in the Clark's Fork River south of Bridger Tuesday night.

Carbon County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Josh McQuillan tells KULR-8 her body was recovered just after 7:30 PM, about three miles from where she disappeared. The lieutenant says emergency crews in a helicopter and on boats and jet skis assisted in the search for the woman, as did several other nearby agencies and members of the community. The victim's name should be released sometime Wednesday.

Deputies caution everyone to be extremely careful on and around the Clark's Fork at this time, saying the water levels are high and the current is swift.
