UPDATE: Police Investigate Downtown Stabbing

BILLINGS - UPDATE - The Yellowstone County Assistant Coroner Chad Fehr identifies the 66-year-old stabbing victim as Michael Sample from Billings. Thursday night, police said Sample died from his wound. Lt. House says a suspect, Zachariah Wiseman, 23, was located a short distance away from the crime scene and was taken into custody. Police are now conducting a murder investigation.

Billings Police are investigating a stabbing that happened downtown Thursday afternoon.

Lt. Jeremy House says when officers arrived, they found a 66-year-old man with a stab wound to the torso in the building on North 24th Street. He says the man was taken to St. Vincent Healthcare. Lt. House says they have a suspect in custody.

The investigation is ongoing and we will bring you the latest as soon as we get it.
