Road Construction Frustration

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS - Road construction: It's inconveniencing, but necessary. That's according to Staff Engineer Randy Straus with City of Billings Public Works Department.

Straus says the work on Broadwater Avenue happened because they noticed severe settlement in the winter months.

The five-week road work affected several businesses along Broadwater.

Paige Lawrence is a nail tech at Tanz and Things. She says their walk up customers have dwindled drastically because it's a hassle to make the detour to a place you've never been.

Straus says with all the road work projects, a month of inconvenience is worth many years of not having to go back and do the work again.

Work on Grand Avenue is scheduled to begin in Mid-July.
