ZooMontana Tigers Public Debut

BILLINGS -

Two new tigers at ZooMontana make their debut to the general public Saturday.

Sophie and Jasmine are Amur tigers, also known as Siberian tigers. ZooMontana executive director Jeff Ewelt says the tigers are rare, and it's exciting to have them here in Big Sky country. He says winter should be an interesting time for these animals.

"They’ve been raised in Florida so they've never seen snow before so it'll be nice for them to acclimate to this colder weather, of course as we go farther in the year, but it's going to be a lot of fun seeing them in the snow because they've never seen it before," Ewelt said.

Ewelt wants to thank the community for all their support in bringing the two new tiger sisters to Montana.
