History Repeating Itself?

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS - Military insurgents are gaining ground in overtaking large areas of Iraq. Iraq War Veterans, along with veterans from all the other wars, find this to be a troubling trend.

James Howell served in the Iraq War and says it's disheartening to see everything they worked for go down the toilet.

Howell also says he's shocked President Obama doesn't plan on deploying troops to the region in the near future. Howell says a promise was made to the current Iraqi government to protect them and help them out as they tried to become a peaceful sovereign nation.

James Gary Koch served in the Vietnam War. He says just like Vietnam and Korea, what's happening in Iraq makes it seem everyone's sacrifice was in vain.

President Obama says he and his advisors will watch the situation carefully to make sure U.S. personnel overseas isn't in harm's way.

Obama also says they will only help Iraq if U.S. efforts are met by sincere and serious Iraqi efforts to form a more inclusive government that looks to unify the Sunni and Shiite populations.
