Billings Company Wins National Award

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS - A Billings company wins a big award through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. During the annual U.S. Chamber Small Business Summit Thursday Sanderson Stewart was named the winner of the DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year award.

Sanderson Stewart is a local engineering and community development firm. The Billings Chamber of Commerce nominated them for the award last fall. Earlier this year, they learned they were one of a hundred companies nominated for the award and then it was narrowed down to seven companies.

Michael Sanderson, President and CEO of Sanderson Stewart, believes it was the company's community involvement that might have been what set them apart. Sanderson says, "We do give a lot back in dollars as well as volunteer hours and other things so that was I think something that clearly was noted how integral we are part of the community."

The firm receives $10,000 from the Chamber, but he says the biggest benefit is the nationwide recognition the company will receive.
