Lockwood Summer Lunch Program

BILLINGS -

Kids are out for the summer, but Lockwood School has free lunches for those who need them.

Lockwood School has the summer lunch program out on Pine Court. Children under 18 can choose what kind of meal they want. The school's kitchen manager, Kandi Phillips, says there is a need for the program in the area and transportation to the school is difficult for some parents.

"We thought that we would help the parents out along with the kids being that it's summer time and they don't get to go to school and that might be their only meal is breakfast or lunch and so we wanted to help out and so we're out here," Phillips said.

Lockwood’s churches are helping the school transport the supplies for the summer. They are out there Monday through Friday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Phillips says she hopes to see as many kids as possible come out.
