Gardener's Market Starts

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS - The 'Healthy by Design' gardener's market begins tonight in Billings.

Fresh produce and handcrafted items will be for sale at South Park. Riverstone Health organizes the market, and doesn't charge a booth fee for vendors.

Riverstone Health held the market in its parking lot last summer, but it'll take place at South Park this year. Riverstone Health Director of Population Health Claire Oakley said there was an average of 150 visitors each week last year.

"We're moving it to the heart of the south side to increase access to healthy foods, and make it easy for nearby residents to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables in an area where there are no grocery stores," Oakley said.

The market is held at the intersection of 28th St. and 6th Ave. from 4:30 until 6:30 PM every Thursday throughout the summer.
