Powell's Trash to Come to Billings

Posted: Updated:
POWELL, WYOMING - Billings city council members approved a five year landfill agreement with the city of Powell in Wyoming.

Last week, the Powell city council decided to move Powell trash to the Billings landfill because it was the economical option. Powell Mayor Don Hillman says the move will save the city between $155,000 and $180,000 per year. He says if they continued delivering trash to Cody, it would have cost $744,000 a year.

The town's five-year contract can be terminated by Billings or Powell.
