GRANT COUNTY, Wash. - The Grant County Fire Marshal's Office and the Grant County Sheriff's Office have formed an Arson Task Force in response to a string of recent string of arson fires in central Grant County.

Multiple fires, later determined to be arson, have recently become a problem in and around the areas of Quincy, Ephrata, and Soap Lake.

Citizens are asked to be aware of what is going on around their property and to clean up any combustibles that an arsonist could use to start a fire. If you see something suspicious, please notify your local fire department, law enforcement or Grant County Fire Marshal's Office (509-754-2011).

ELLENSBURG, Wash. (AP) - The settlers who founded Ellensburg in the 1870s were likely drawn by the plentiful water in creeks crisscrossing the valley, but as the city expanded, it grew right over those streams. Look at a Google map of downtown Ellensburg and you'll see Wilson Creek wind across Main Street.
