Mobile Home Fire Causes Evacuation

A mid afternoon fire ripped through the mobile home park, which sits next to Newman School.

Newman School was first put on lock down, but eventually, parents were allowed to pick up their children.

Firefighter battled the blaze, which was being fueled by a gas line. The surrounding neighborhoods were evacuated.

Benita Newman's kids go to Newman School and she says while picking them up, she heard a loud boom, and then saw smoke shoot up from behind Newman school.

The Fire Department was able to shut off the gas to the trailer and investigators are now on the scene figuring out what caused the fire.
