Online Sex-Trafficking Sting Nets Billings Man

Posted: Updated:
FARGO, N.D. -

A Billings man will go to prison as part of an online sex trafficking sting in the Bakken.

A federal judge sentenced 34-year-old Clayton Lakey to 5 years in prison.

He was arrested at a hotel as part of "Operation Vigilant Guardian" -- an online sting -- centered in Williston and Dickinson.

Lakey agreed to pay for sex with what he thought was a juvenile.

After he gets out of prison, he'll be supervised for 10 years and must register as a sex offender.
