MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. - Firefighters were called to Espanola, west of Fairchild Air Force Base, on Monday after a microburst ripped the roof off of an apartment building.

Around 3:30p, emergency crews got a 911 call of a building collapse on West Manila Road. Fearing there could be people inside, Fire District #3 sent a technical rescue team.

When they arrived on scene they quickly checked all 9 units in the old hotel and found no one inside. After learning no one was inside, the big worry was electricity. Avista showed up on scene and shut off the power to the building.
