BILLINGS - Five ROTC members in the MSU Billings program are being commissioned Friday to become 2nd Lieutenants in the army.

The ceremony celebrates all the hard work and determination that goes into the ROTC program. One commissionaire, Silver Pool, said the feeling is indescribable.

Pool has been appointed to the 484th Military Police Company in Montana, and will be attending Officer School in a few months. Pool said she is ecstatic to finish the program, and said her daughter is her inspiration. For that reason, the toddler presented her mom with the 2nd Lieutenant Bars. "I keep saying that this is the second best day of my life. The first being the day that she was born, so you know, she's the reason I finished this program. She's the reason I'm here now. She's the reason I'm becoming an officer, so I thought it was only right that she be the one that gave me my bars," said Pool.

Pool said she will be an officer for the next four to five years. After, she intends to pursue a civilian life in Mass Media Communications, and possibly Broadcast Journalism.
