Governor Announces Award

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS - Governor Steve Bullock announced a bio-medical research grant award to Billings' health partners on Friday.

It's a $95,000 grant to expand the Chron's Disease Collaborate Research Center. The partnership is between St. Vincent Healthcare and Montana State University Billings. Governor Bullock said he's relieved the nearly 3,000 Montana suffering from Chron's Disease will benefit from the program. "I know from our Main Street Montana Project that one of the things we are talking about was investing in research, forging these partnerships, so the work that can be done through this center can actually save lives and impact families. At the end of the day, it's something we're all pretty excited about," Governor Bullock.

According to health managers, nearly 200 Montanans are diagnosed with Chron's Disease every year.

Susanne Rodell faced a difficult situation. Hail storm damage to her roof led to an insurance claim being filed. Rodell picked a local contractor to fix her roof, but mother nature did not cooperate. While the roofing company was in the middle of fixing her roof, a weekend of rain caused water damage to dry wall and ceilings within the house.
