Pool Admission Increase Proposed

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS - Billings city council members will decide whether to increase admission at Rose Park.

The Parks and Recreation Director, Mike Whitaker, will propose a 50 cent increase for children and a $1 increase for adults. Whitaker said the last adjustment was in 2012 when the council lowered the youth age from 7 to 5 years old. "Prices go up to operate a facility. You have to make regular adjustments to cover costs," Whitaker said.

With free spray parks wading pools and a new 31-foot speed slide at Rose Park, Whitaker said the proposed increase is minimal. City pools are scheduled to reopen on June 11th.

Susanne Rodell faced a difficult situation. Hail storm damage to her roof led to an insurance claim being filed. Rodell picked a local contractor to fix her roof, but mother nature did not cooperate. While the roofing company was in the middle of fixing her roof, a weekend of rain caused water damage to dry wall and ceilings within the house.
