Stolen Explosives Suspect Appears in Federal Court

BILLINGS -

The man suspected of stealing more than 550 pounds of explosives from a bunker near Red Lodge appeared in federal court on Monday.

32-year-old Budd Nesius plead not guilty to possession of stolen explosives.

Last April, officials say someone broke into a bunker near Red Lodge and stole those explosives from the U.S. Forest Service.

An affidavit says the explosives were stolen between April 26th and April 29th, 2013 in Carbon County.

The ATF reported the explosives were found in November and asked the U.S. Marshal's Office to help with Nesius' arrest in Grand Junction, Colorado in February.

Nesius was returned to Montana in late March.
