Jay Sekulow Comes to Billings

BILLINGS -

Empowering youth takes front and center stage Tuesday at the annual Billings Christian School Spring Banquet and Auction.

The keynote speaker, Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice, hopes the younger generation understands the need to stand up for the values in which they believe, and he says education is essential for improvement and to get our country moving forward.

Sekulow also says he'd like to offer hope to the younger generation by reminding them that they live in the greatest country in the world.

"Even when things aren't going, necessarily, politically your way, we live in the greatest country in the world. I really believe in American exceptionalism --that we are uniquely blessed as a country, and we need to instill that in young people. The school is doing it, the foundation is doing it, and I think it's important to communicate hope, even when things are difficult," said Sekulow.

Sekulow says one of his main goals is to help local education centers and especially the students.

Several counties in our area have issued fire restrictions. Yellowstone County has issued Stage One fire restriction, which limit campfires and smoking areas. Carbon County has moved on to Stage Two restrictions, which set limits on certain work that can be done during the hot hours of the day. Decisions like these aren't just made by the county, however. They actually take a lot of coordination between different agencies."We try to work very hard to coordinate that," says Carmen Thomason, wh...
