Distracted Driving Awareness Month

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month and law enforcement wants to remind you not to text and drive.

Not only is it illegal in most places, it's an ever increasing danger.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 3,328 people were killed and 421.000 people were injured due to distracted driving crashes in 2012.

A study by Carnegie Mellon University found using a cell phone while driving reduces your focus on the road by 37%.

When you text and drive, you have three types of distractions: eyes off the road, hands off the wheel and mind off driving.
