Community Medical Merges with Billings Clinic

BILLINGS -

Community Medical Center in Missoula announced plans to merge with Billings Clinic.

But, the press conference revealed information about plans for a health clinic in Big Sky. A community group asked for bids from several hospitals to create a medical facility in Big Sky. Billings Clinic won that bidding process, but Bozeman Deaconess came in at a close second. Last week, we learned Billings Clinic will not move forward with plans in Big Sky. "Bozeman Deaconess rather quickly chose to move forward by hiring an architect and having a groundbreaking, so at this point in time Billings Clinic does not have specific plans in Big Sky," Dr. Nick Wolter said.

According to organizers, the partnership agreement includes commitments to continue CMC's charity, care services, and mental education programs. The merger could take up to six months, and is contingent upon approval from Attorney General, Tim Fox.

Streets that run for several blocks, without a single street light. It is a dark reality many residents throughout the Magic City face when the sun goes down. Leo Robinson lives on Monad Rd., east of 24th Street. He said if street lights were placed on Monad, safety for everyone would improve. Terry Smith, City Traffic Engineer, said the city is more than willing to work with anyone, on any street, which lacks street lights.

Hundreds of Hells Angels are coming to Cody for a national meeting this week. The motorcycle club apparently likes the northwest Wyoming town. They held their world run there in 2006. Police presence is heavy in Cody now.
