US: Information on Oil Transport Is Slow

How safe are trains transporting oil? That's what U.S. transportation officials want to know but say they aren't getting information they need.

They say they are not getting cooperation from the oil industry -- and that is slowing safety improvements.

Back in January, the Secretary of Transportation asked for information on how volatile crude from the Bakken is.

A spokesperson for the American Petroleum Institute says oil companies are not dragging their feet and they have provided some data and more will come.
