Zimmerman Trail. Closed Indefinitely.

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

A road closed for routine maintenance is now closed indefinitely because of a rock slide. Zimmerman Trail will be closed until the city deems the road safe for cars to drive on it.

The road, along with the guard rail, will need to be replaced, says Vern Heisler, Deputy Public Works Director for the city of Billings.

Joyce Hendricks lives near the rockslide. She says there was a loud boom and it happened very fast.

No one was hurt during the rock slide.

An official report from a geological technical engineer hasn't been released, but he did say there's a rock that he's deemed unsafe.  Heisler says the city will keep a close eye on the rock.

As new developments occur, KULR 8 will keep you update via our web site and Facebook account.
