Sheriff's Deputy Contracts in Continual State of Negotiation

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS, Mont. -

The Yellowstone County Sheriff's Deputies have been working with out a contract since June 30, 2013.

Although there have been multiple revisions, both sides are in a stalemate.

Union Rep, Darcy Dahle with the Montana Public Employees Association, says the sheriff's deputies are willing to negotiate.

Jim Reno, along with the other Yellowstone County Commissioners, also say they are willing to negotiate.

However, a lack of contract proves neither side is ready to give in, just yet.

After today's Board of County Commissioners meeting, both sides agree that more fact finding needs to be done.

Darcy Dahle will be back at another Board of County Commissioners meeting after the fact finder has gone over the contract stipulations and recommendations.

The date of that meeting has yet to be determined.
