Heavy snow and bitter cold temperatures are canceling school and also events today.

Known school closures at this hour include:

Northern Cheyenne Tribal School

Pretty Eagle Catholic Academy.

Fort Smith Elementary

Shepherd School

Wyola Schools

Morin Elementary (also known as Little Country School)

Huntley School

Lame Deer School

Harlowtown School

St. Labre Catholic School

*Columbus School is still open with no buses running

*Elder Grove is still open but bus route four from Lift Rd to Buffalo Trail is not running

 

The Stillwater Mining Company biometric screening event scheduled at the Stillwater County Pavilion in Columbus this morning has been canceled. The event will be rescheduled and registrants will be contacted with details of the new date once it has been confirmed.  For up to date details, please call 406-322-8798.

Also, ZooMontana also wants to remind people the zoo will be closed to the public this weekend because of the cold temperatures.

    Streets that run for several blocks, without a single street light. It is a dark reality many residents throughout the Magic City face when the sun goes down. Leo Robinson lives on Monad Rd., east of 24th Street. He said if street lights were placed on Monad, safety for everyone would improve. Terry Smith, City Traffic Engineer, said the city is more than willing to work with anyone, on any street, which lacks street lights.

    Hundreds of Hells Angels are coming to Cody for a national meeting this week. The motorcycle club apparently likes the northwest Wyoming town. They held their world run there in 2006. Police presence is heavy in Cody now.
