Another Complaint Against Missoula County Sheriff's Office

MISSOULA -

Another human rights complaint has been filed against the Missoula County Sheriff's Office, this one by a deputy who says supervisors badgered her for details of her private life.

The Missoulian reported Wednesday Deputy Rebecca Birket alleges she was discriminated against and ostracized because she is a woman and because she is divorced.

The newspaper says Sheriff Carl Ibsen wasn't available to comment and that the county's attorney didn't respond to a request for comment.

Birket's complaint came a week after the county paid $120,000 to settle two other complaints against the sheriff's office.

Detective Sgt. T.J. McDermott and Detective Jason Johnson claimed Ibsen discriminated against them when McDermott announced he would run for sheriff. McDermott has said he would appoint Johnson as undersheriff if he won.
