Men Go Red for Women

BILLINGS -

One in three women dies each year from heart disease.

Heart attack survivor, Kathy Rude, said everyone needs to take their heart health seriously. She said she was shocked when she had a heart attack in 2006, because she took all the preventative measures, like exercising regularly and eating healthy. "In my mind, there was no way I was a statistic that I would have a heart attack. It was not a possibility. So, my emotion was that 'If I can have this, if this is what's really happening, everyone in the world is going to have a heart attack,' because I was doing everything right," Kathy said.

St. Vincent Healthcare is raising awareness about heart disease at the first-time Men Go Red for Women Event. It kicks off Thursday at 6:45 AM and goes 8:00 AM at the Mansfield Health Education Center. To register 406-969-5499.
