Former Parking Manager Gets Deferred Sentence

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

The former Billings parking division manager, arrested for stealing money from the city, was sentenced in court Monday.

Christopher Mallow got a two-year deferred sentence, and had to pay $6,587.06 in restitution.

In December, Mallow admitted to theft by embezzlement, stealing at least $1,500 from City of Billings parking ticket envelopes.

Mallow started stealing in October 2012 because he says he needed the extra money. He would not enter some parking ticket payments and then kept the money. Mallow was suspended in April and fired in late May. Accounting records revealed he stole about $10,000.
