CPR Saturday Coming Up

BILLINGS -

Have you wanted to learn CPR but don't have the time to be stuck in a classroom all day to learn?

Well, now you have a chance to learn CPR for free by taking a condensed class offered through local health organizations. The class offers the appropriate CPR techniques for children and adults, and it's taught by trained professionals.

"For patients that pass out from a cardiac arrest who get their CPR initiated within the first minute or two their likelihood of success can be as high as 50 percent," said Dr. Scott Sample, an interventional cardiologist with Billings Clinic. "In a patient that waits five minutes, their likelihood of success is less than one percent."

The class is Saturday, February 22nd at MetraPark. Basic Training classes run from 8 AM to 3 PM and are free. Certification classes run from 8:30 to noon, and cost 40 dollars.
