Investigation Into Early Morning Fire Continues

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

The on scene investigation into a massive building fire on billings north side early this morning has finished

Billings firefighters say the fire started just before 1:00 a.m. at Paint All on 4th Avenue North. Billings Fire Marshal Mike Spini says they couldn't begin their investigation until 2:00 p.m. Thursday because of some unstable walls. He says the building was in a transition. Ironically Paint All was selling the building to ServPro a disaster damage restoration company. Spini says, "Paint All was in the north side mainly where the fire was located the area where they were occupying during the fire and ServPro was moving into the front half here."

The rest of the investigation is ongoing and right now a cause of the fire hasn't been released. Damage is estimated at about $500,000. Firefighters say part of the roof collapsed and there was substantial damage to the contents and the building itself.
