Elysian School Starting Bid Process for Construction

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

A spring construction project is planned at Elysian School.

Superintendent Lucas Larson says more and more students are coming in and the school is running out of space. This week alone, three new students enrolled. Larson attributes the growth to the developing neighborhoods in the area. He says the $10 million construction project is expected to be finished by August 2015.

"We are going to have a fantastic facility that matches our goals and vision for the future in education," Larson said. "Really using technology, using a space in education to really push and drive through and help our students be successful in today's day and age."

Elysian was also a Montana finalist for the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest. Two teachers, Kristi Tieszen and Ryan Irigoin, made the submission, coming up with a lesson to teach students how to use technology to develop a safe walking route to school. The teachers' classes were awarded Samsung tablets.
