Billings Teacher Announces US House Run

BILLINGS -

A state senator and elementary school teacher announces her bid for Montana's open US House seat.

Elsie Arntzen visited Burlington Elementary School to discuss why she decided to run. The former fifth grade teacher says she wants to return to politics because she believes Washington is broken. Arntzen says she wants to reduce the nation's debt, repeal Obamacare and promote economic growth in Montana.

"When you teach 10 year olds, it's all about giving them that positive idea that they can be successful, so my job is going to be changing that discourse, putting positive thoughts into play," Arntzen said about her goals. "Having it be so that there will be solutions that will be looked at, not negative gridlock."

Five Republicans and one Democrat say they are running for the open US House seat and Arntzen is the only female candidate running.

Susanne Rodell faced a difficult situation. Hail storm damage to her roof led to an insurance claim being filed. Rodell picked a local contractor to fix her roof, but mother nature did not cooperate. While the roofing company was in the middle of fixing her roof, a weekend of rain caused water damage to dry wall and ceilings within the house.
