BILLINGS -

St. Vincent Healthcare held a luncheon to reunite patients who have gone through a total joint replacement in the past three to six months, on Wednesday.

St. V's brought in a dietician and talked about how important it is to eat nutritious foods to keep the body healthy.

The hospital also was recognized as a Blue Distinction Center for its expertise in delivering quality specialty care for knee and hip replacement, and spine surgery.

Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Dean Sukin said the patients are brought together about four times a year.

"You know getting a joint replacement is really about getting your life back and getting quality of life back, and so we like to get the patients that have had a joint replacement together in a setting and not just talk about their joint replacement together in a setting and not just talk about their joint replacements and experiences but like we're doing today. Talk about nutrition, [and] exercise," said Dr. Sukin.

Sukin said the gathering helps steer patients towards a rapid recovery and an active lifestyle.
