BILLINGS -

Judge G. Todd Baugh announced he will not seek re-election.

The 72-year-old judge said the decision had nothing to do with his courtroom comment that a 14-year-old rape victim was older than her chronological age. Judge Baugh later apologized for his comment. He later sought unsuccessfully to impose a longer sentence that the one-month term he handed down against former Senior High teacher, Stacy Rambold. Judge Baugh said his 30 years on the bench were rewarding, and he looks to spend his retirement spending time with his five grandchildren.
