Religious Groups React to Hold Obamacare Contraception

Posted: Updated:

Local religious groups reacted to the news of the Supreme Court putting a temporary exemption on religious groups covering contraception under Obamacare.

Mark Erickson, Associate Pastor at Faith Evangelical, says he is glad a temporary exemption has been granted.

Erickson says the mandate would infringe on religious liberties some people may take for granted.

He says it's a good thing the Supreme Court is re-evaluating the contraception mandate.

"This mandate has really struck a chord with a lot of religious organizations that on a conscious level really do not agree with that. So, I think it's good that they're voicing their concerns for it and I think it's actually a good thing that the Supreme Court is taking another look at it," says Mark Erickson.

The Obama administration formally asked the Supreme Court today to keep the contraceptive requirement in place.
