Rockin' The Rims Party Is On!

BILLINGS -

After hurrying to set up all the lights and sound for the New Year's Rockin' The Rims, festivities took flight at Skypoint. People started off having a good time with plenty of music and entertainment. But, the purpose of the event is to bring people and families together.

Lights -- music -- and the New Year's ball-- Rockin' The Rims organizers made sure there was plenty of New Year's entertainment to bring New York City to the Magic City.

"I think more than anything else is that you know what you don't have to go all the way to NYC to experience something like this. You know we have the ability to be able to do it right here in Billings and celebrate with our own community," says Kim Welzenbach, Mack Productions.

The event is filled with light shows -- music -- and later in the night -- pyrotechnics and surprise performances. Families around town came out for the festivities.

"We're actually going to go home and get our 11 year old and bring her down to let her dance around and have a good time," says Brenda Harrison. Her family from out of town came along to *rock the rims* for New Year's Eve and says it's important to be with family during this time.

"It means the world to me. I always get to visit on the breaks from college and stuff so it's always fun to see them and see my brother who I never get to see very much. It's a great time." says James McMurray from Idaho. "You're looking over the past. I mean, you're thinking about 2013, some of the best memories are spent with our families and so I think it's great. That's who you should be around."
