BILLINGS -

If you're making plans for what to do on New Year's Eve, there are several things going on in the Magic City.

Rockin' the Rims is happening in downtown Billings. At last word VIP tickets are sold out but general admission is $5 at the gate. Gates open at 8 PM, and the event starts at 9.

The Mission Mountain Wood Band will be at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center on New Year's Eve. Doors open at 8:30 PM, and the band will be playing from 9:30 to 12:30. It costs $25 in advance and $30 at the door. The hotel recommends getting tickets in advance. You can do that by calling 248-7151.

Two events are going on for the Billings Symphony. From 5 to 7 PM at Rocky Mountain College's Prescott Hall there will live entertainment and food, including a mashtini, that's mashed potatoes with your choice of toppings. The cost is $50. You can continue to party after that at 8 PM at Alberta Bair Theater for a 50's dance party. Tickets for that range from $26 to $51. To get tickets call the Alberta Bair Box Office at 256-6052 or Billings Symphony office at 252-3610.
