Local Tree Lot Benefits Youth

BILLINGS -

With Christmas only a few days away, last minute tree shoppers made their purchases on Saturday.

Magic City Optimists, a club that focuses on benefiting youth in the community, is one of the lots that is nearly sold out.

Customers made their way through the selection of trees as lot operators reported a good year for tree sales.

"It is one of our biggest fundraisers. This one is probably our most labor-intensive fundraiser, because keeping a lot open all the time and having the personnel to do that. People recognize the Optimists Christmas trees, so we like to be out," said Optimist Club Board Member, Ann Deegan.

The proceeds from the sale of the trees will help support various youth projects such as the YMCA After School Youth Rally Room, the Special Children's Camp, and the Boys and Girls Club.
