Salvation Army Looking for Donations

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

The bad weather and late Thanksgiving date are affecting the Salvation Army's Red Kettle fundraiser.

Major Markham with the Salvation Army says the organization is 75 percent behind compared to last year.

The Salvation Army still needs nearly $75,000 and there are only a few  more days to raise that money. Dream Girls USA Montana Shelleen Williams heard about the predicament and decided to volunteer. She stood outside of the Billings Heights Walmart for two hours Tuesday, with the hopes of collecting hundreds for the organization.

"I have a lot of opportunities and some people don't so I'm trying to help them get what I can do," she said.

Money collected from the red kettles go to fund many of the Salvation Army's programs. If you would like to volunteer or learn more about the program, call 406-245-4651 or click on Connections.
