Kids Receive Coats From Firefighters

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

This winter is getting a little warmer Wednesday for the children of Head Start.

Billings Firefighters Local 521 donated more than 270 winter coats to Head Start children on Wednesday. It's the second year the firefighters have teamed up with Head Start.

Firefighter, Marcus Evenson, says the kids are excited to have new coats.

"Some of them are in need of warm clothes, because they have their older brother or sister's. They are having their hand-me-downs where jackets might be too big or worn out, and they are just getting by. So, we felt this was a really great thing to do," said Evenson.

The firefighters spent their day off helping children pick out their coats, and write their names inside the coats.
