Lockwood Safety District

Posted: Updated:

Lockwood residents will soon vote on whether or not the town should have a safety district. Yellowstone County Commissioners voted unanimously to put a measure on the ballot that would create a special district. That district would provide and maintain things like sidewalks and lighting for pedestrian safety. If the mill levy passes it would cost the owner of a $200,000 home $26 a year. County Commissioner Bill Kennedy says there's an ongoing issue of pedestrian safety in Lockwood and the town continues to grow. The election will be a mail in ballot and should take place after the first of the year.
