BILLINGS -

It's that time of year, many people are planning their holiday vacations but there's something you may need to think about.

The number of burglaries always increase around the holidays; but keep this in mind, if you are the victim of a burglary, it might be due to the fact you post your highly anticipated holiday get away on Facebook with a post like, "Leaving on vacation tomorrow."

"We have seen across the nation, there are actually burglary rings that have used that information to find people's residence's that have been gone and actually burglarize residences and businesses and things when they're gone and when they know they're closed," said Earl Campbell with the Montana Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.

Police also say it's a good idea to have a friend or neighbor check your mail and collect the newspaper while you're away.
