Zonta Says No to Domestic Violence

BILLINGS -

The Zonta Club of Billings kicked off its domestic violence awareness campaign Monday night with an art show.

Sixteen Days of Activism is a part of Zonta's international campaign to raise awareness about gender-based violence. The event showcased art created by victims of domestic violence and provided information relating to domestic violence and services in the area. Zonta members say art is therapeutic for victims and some even adopted art as a hobby.

"It was more to give them something of their own to help build their self esteem to show them that yes they can do something wonderful and so as they took part you could see that it really works," said Renee Coppock, Zonta Club of Billings member.

Members hope the community will join them in a call to action to stop violence. The artwork will be displayed until December 10th at the Downtown Billings Association for the 16 Days of Activism.
