Running a Local Ceramics Studio

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS, Mont. -

Small Business Saturday is coming up on November 30.

In Good Glazes is a contemporary ceramics studio that opened about seven years ago. Owners say it provides the community with family fun. The studio has served thousands through parties or helping people make gifts. They say even though Black Friday usually draws customers to big box stores, the small businesses in town are just as important.

"People come in sometimes a little hesitant where they don't know how to create and our coaches help them to create something that really they walk away saying oh look what I made," said Karen Grosz, In Good Glazes co-owner. "It really is unique. We're the only business in Billings doing this and offering that upbeat family experience."

Small Business Saturday was created by American Express in 2010. It encourages people to shop local and keep the money local. To learn more about the participating small businesses, click on Connections.
