Billings Man to Dance in Macy's Day Parade

BILLINGS -

The Macy's Day Parade is almost a bigger tradition than Thanksgiving itself.

This year, Christian Parrish from Billings is bringing his dancing expertise to the age-old turkey tradition. Parrish said a national group asked him to take part in the festivities about in October. Christian said he will be the only Montanan dancing with the Native Tribe Performers on Thursday. He said it'll be a rush being in the parade, instead of watching it on TV.

"It's a great feeling, and it's a great opportunity. You wake up on Thanksgiving Day, and you watch the parade. To be in it is an awesome feeling and an awesome opportunity," Christian Parrish Takes the Gun said.

Christian said after performing in the Macy's Day Parade, he plans to travel to Denver and audition for America's Got Talent.

Streets that run for several blocks, without a single street light. It is a dark reality many residents throughout the Magic City face when the sun goes down. Leo Robinson lives on Monad Rd., east of 24th Street. He said if street lights were placed on Monad, safety for everyone would improve. Terry Smith, City Traffic Engineer, said the city is more than willing to work with anyone, on any street, which lacks street lights.
